Job: Supply and Demand Planner

Location: Amsterdam

Contract: 5 months (extension possible)


In this role you will be responsible for demand and supply planning, with some order management activities. Your key purpose is to create and improve a monthly demand plan and link this to your weekly supply planning activities and monthly inventory review.
Responsibilities are including but not limited to:

Demand planning (50% of the role)
  • Maintaining forecast KPI, evolution and accuracy reporting
  • Develop and generate on a monthly basis 12 month forecast (based on statistics, seasonality/trends and forward insights gained via stakeholders and in line with overall strategy)
  • Define stock strategy based on article characteristics and behavior
  • Follow market and business trends
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to get essential inputs and reach cross-functional consensus on forecast and stock strategy
  • Prepare and lead demand planning meetings as part of the demand planning process
  • Ensure timely handover of consensus forecast into supply planning process
  • Maintain demand planning tools (RASCI's, meeting templates, calendars)
  • Extended stakeholders management (internal e.g. Retail, Procurement & Controlling team and external e.g. 3PL) on forecast outcomes

Supply planning (45% of the role)
  • Develop supply planning process to increase product availability and keep inventory low
  • Monthly convert output of demand planning process into a supply plan in line with overall strategy
  • Order volume validation
  • Perform weekly analysis on stock availability issues, with a forward view of 3 months (identify and resolve supply shortfalls & backlogs)
  • Prepare and lead weekly supply planning meeting as part of the supply planning process
  • Communicate planning results and stock availability
  • Follow up on stock risk control during weekly supply planning meeting
  • Stakeholders management (internal e.g. Retail, Procurement & Controlling team and external e.g. Suppliers, 3PL) on availability issues

Inventory risk management (5% of the role)
  • Perform monthly analysis on inventory risks and suggest mitigation plan (discontinoued or damaged products to be written off, push strategy of in range products,…)
  • Preparation and lead of the monthly Inventory Review
  • Ownership of the actions coming out of the Inventory Review process
  • Coordinate scrapping and write off activities

  • Highly motivated and driven
  • 3+ years' experience in a SC Planning function, of which at minimum 1 year in Demand Planning
  • HBO/MSc level in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent (APICS-CPIM)
  • Experience with Sales & Operations Planning or Integrated Business Planning processes is a plus
  • Numerate with good attention to accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills, organizational skills
  • Preferably people from a multinational fast-paced environment
  • Excellent command of English language (written & spoken)
  • Strong Excel skills
