Location: Amsterdam Area
Hours: 40 hours per week
Length of contract: 12 months

The position description

As an Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Customer Service Representatives/Accountmanagers, while overseeing key aspects of logistics and transportation operations. Within this position you will ensure optimal team performance, foster a motivated work environment and contribute to service enhancements. Conducting performance reviews, conducting team meetings and maintaining business relationships will be integral to your role. In the end your expertise will contribute to the growth and efficiency of the logistics services of the company while maintaining a high stander of customer satisfaction

Job description & responsibilities

  • Supervising the customer service representative/account manager;
  • Handling customer orders and inquiries regarding incoming and outgoing goods;
  • Managing and overseeing the archiving of customer files;
  • Coordinating the creation, sending, requests and verifying of transport documents and customer clearance;
  • Coordinating the preparation of import-export documentation;
  • Guiding the execution of transport operations;
  • Providing support in resolving claims and damage incidents;
  • Preparing, developing and sending quotations;
  • Sourcing and procuring third-party transportation services.

Skills and competencies

  • 3 years of experience in management, preferably in the logistics or transport industry
  • Preferably a bachelors' degree
  • Experience in WMS systems is a pre
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken
  • You have an understanding of inbound and outbound procedures, Incoterms, and you have the ability to analyze the process critically and offer recommendations for enhancements.
  • You are a strong communicator, are customer focused, are friendly and have a proactive mindset
