Contract Engineer

Location: Geleen

Contract: Full-time (40h preferred, 36h discussable)

Languages: English and Dutch (both mandatory)

Salary: EUR 3800.00 - 4300.00 gross per month excl. holiday allowance

The company you will work for is an international organisation and is one of the most innovative producers where they are providing materials and applications in the automotive, electrical, medical, optical media and building & construction industries. Their European HQ is based in Sittard but with their Global HQ based in the Middle East. This company operates in around 50 countries across the world and they have 66 world-class manufacturing and compounding plants in locations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The team

You will become part of a team that values a long standing and valuable relations with their clients. You will work in the buyer team from the turn arounds organisation on site in Geleen, the team now consists of 5 team members.

What you will be doing as a Contract Engineer

The Contract Engineer will be located in Geleen and serves as a procurement business partner. Capturing requirements, identifying opportunities, intensive co-operation with the internal customers and Procurement colleagues delivering value, in an efficient manner and fully compliant with Procurement Policy is of utmost importance.

• Coordinate the relation of SABIC stakeholders with their (key-) suppliers and optimize conditions both internally and externally;
• Implement, monitor and manage new or extend existing turnaround contracts according Procurement procedures to ensure service availability (Surety of supply) against required quality and lowest Total Cost of Ownership.(TCO);
• Support in contracting and commercial activities, where applicable in cooperation with Tactical Buyer TA;
• Deviations on standard conditions to be aligned with Legal;
• Responsible and coordinate commercially Turnaround or other special projects in competition unless to ensure the best value;
• Create PO related to service contracts in competition and reaching optimal and commercial conditions to ensure value creation including expediting and correct payment;
• Responsible report out final billing process in cooperation with Tactical Buyer and stakeholders TA;
• Manage complaint handling / claims, and respond to market movements;
• Correct administration and availability of contracts / purchase orders and reporting of Ensure full compliance, and legal correctness and control;
• On incidental basis provide operational support and solve critical procurement (second line trouble shooting);
• Provide operational support and solve critical procurement problems;
• Drive continuous improvement, change management initiatives and share knowledge of procurement processes and policies with the internal organization. (stakeholders).

The person our client is looking for meets the following requirements/ has experience in or with

• Bachelor or Master Degree (HBO+) in commerce, business administration, engineering or similar;
• Preferred certification in (NEVI, CIPS);
• Excellent in process management, project management and negotiating skills;
• 5-10 years' experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or Customer service;
• Capability of professional time management, communicate on progress and escalate if needed;
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, processes and work methods;
• Familiarity with manufacturing and materials, preferably a technical background;
• Administrative affinity and knowledge SAP-MM, including
• Proven negotiation and analytical skills;
• Teamplayer;
