The company you will work for is an international organisation and is one of the most innovative producers where they are providing materials and applications in the automotive, electrical, medical, optical media and building & construction industries. Their European HQ is based in Sittard but with their Global HQ based in the Middle East. This company operates in around 50 countries across the world and they have 66 world-class manufacturing and compounding plants in locations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

What you will be doing as a Tactical buyer

The Tactical Buyer will be located in Geleen and serves as a procurement business partner. Capturing requirements, identifying opportunities, intensive co-operation with the internal customers and Procurement colleagues delivering value, in an efficient manner and fully compliant with Procurement Policy is of utmost importance.

• Procure local Projects
• Manage the Sourcing, Contracting and Procurement of assigned Maintenance CAPEX projects;
• Implement sourcing via competitive bidding as much as possible;
• Responsible for value creation;
• Execute Vendor Qualification;
• Execute project supplier management: achieve high supplier performance, ensure delivery at most profitable conditions in the current market and stimulate continuous improvement;
• Supplier evaluation;
• Ensure compliance to regional legislation, global standards, requirements, policies and procedures including EHS;
• Manage complaint handling / claims;
• On incidental basis provide operational support and solve critical procurement (second line trouble shooting);
• Expediting;
• Connect with Corporate functions like Legal and

The person our client is looking for meets the following requirements/ has experience in or with;

• Bachelor or Master Degree (HBO+) in commerce, business administration, engineering or similar;
• Tactical purchasing experience and preferably procurement specific education in the mentioned (e.g. NEVI 1, 2);
• A minimum of 3-5 years working experience with internal customer base;
• Proven ability to effectively interact and communicate across organization;
• Steady & robust personality, able to work successful in a technical environment with turnaround managers, project managers and other stakeholders;
• Capability of professional time management, communicate on progress and escalate if needed;
• Familiarity with manufacturing and materials, preferably a technical background;
