To support further growth, they are looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Specialist to join their team in Rotterdam.

What will you do?

As an Ocean Freight Specialist, you will take ownership of the complete ocean freight process, managing import and export shipments from booking through final invoicing. You will work closely with customers, carriers, customs brokers, transport providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and high service levels.

Your responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end ocean import and export shipments
• Coordinate transport with carriers, agents, and logistics partners
• Prepare shipping and customs documentation and ensure compliance
• Track shipments and provide customers with timely updates
• Resolve operational issues and customer enquiries
• Negotiate rates and optimise transport costs
• Maintain accurate records in the TMS
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Customs, and Warehousing teams
• Drive continuous improvements in service, efficiency, and cost control

What do you bring:

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar
• 2+ years of experience in ocean freight forwarding
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and Incoterms
• Experience with TMS and CRM systems
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Accurate, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
