Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid)
Hours: Full-time
Contract: 6 months, freelancers only
Languages: English required; additional European languages are a plus

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Partner to help create a fair, respectful and high-performing workplace across the Netherlands and EMEA region.
In this role, you will lead sensitive workplace investigations, advise senior business leaders, and partner with HR, Legal and Compliance teams to uphold the highest standards of integrity and employee experience.
This position offers the opportunity to shape organisational culture, identify emerging risks and drive meaningful improvements across the employee lifecycle.

What You'll Do

Lead Investigations

  • Manage complex and sensitive employee relations investigations end-to-end.
  • Conduct interviews, review evidence and establish findings objectively.
  • Produce clear investigation reports and practical recommendations.
  • Ensure timely resolution while maintaining fairness and confidentiality.

Advise & Influence

  • Partner with HR and business leaders on complex employee relations matters.
  • Provide guidance on workplace conflict, risk mitigation and organisational effectiveness.
  • Support mediation and conflict resolution initiatives.

Drive Organisational Improvement

  • Analyse investigation trends and case data.
  • Identify recurring themes and emerging risks.
  • Recommend proactive solutions, policy improvements and preventative measures.

Support Workplace Culture

  • Conduct climate assessments and team health reviews.
  • Develop recommendations to improve employee experience and engagement.
  • Ensure lessons learned translate into sustainable change.

Collaborate Across Functions

  • Partner closely with Global ER, Legal, Compliance and HR teams.
  • Contribute to shared ER standards and best practices.
  • Support training initiatives and capability building for managers and HR teams.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience within Employee Relations, HR, Compliance or Employment Law.
  • Proven track record leading workplace investigations independently.
  • Experience managing highly sensitive and complex employee matters.
  • Strong interviewing and fact-finding capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and employee relations practices across multiple jurisdictions.
  • High levels of integrity, discretion and professional judgement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • EMEA employee relations experience.
  • Mediation and conflict resolution expertise.
  • Experience conducting culture reviews or climate assessments.
  • Multilingual capabilities.
  • Experience in high-growth or international matrix organisations.
