Hours: 36-40 hours per week
Contract: Freelance assignment for 12 months
About the Role
What You'll Do
- Lead complex qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research projects
- Define long-term research programmes aligned with business priorities
- Translate ambiguous business questions into actionable research plans
- Conduct accessibility-focused user research and usability testing
- Synthesize findings from multiple data sources to generate strategic insights
- Guide teams on research methodologies and inclusive research practices
- Partner with Product, Design, Data and Customer Experience teams
- Mentor researchers and contribute to research excellence across the organisation
- Communicate insights effectively to both operational and executive stakeholders
- Support evidence-based product and service decisions
What You'll Bring
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology or a related field
- 5-8+ years of UX, Customer or User Research experience
- Strong expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Experience delivering strategic research programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to influence business and product decisions through research
- Knowledge of GDPR, research ethics and data compliance
- Passion for accessibility, inclusion and user-centred design
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience researching accessibility needs or assistive technologies
- Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and digital accessibility standards
- Service design research experience
- Diary studies and longitudinal research
- Behavioural science or human factors expertise
- International consumer research experience
